The https was the problem. If http is used instead then the Vimeo will embed between the media tags.

Not really a problem. If we cannot have a few videos, then that would be not good.

 

I'm going to try using an upload first.

Ok, uploaded an AVI. But does not play here in the topic. Instead it has to call Quicktime player.

 

 

 

Try embedding it like this:

or like this:

[embed][attachment=10480:D3S_0872.AVI][/embed]

You figured it out !! Hurray !!

 

When I tried to embed a Vimeo previously (above), I used "https" instead of "http".

That caused the embed to fail. So the formatting should look like the following for Vimeo videos.

 

[media]http://vimeo.com/103859154[/media]

I see a working video in your post #26 above.

Have I misunderstood the problem?

When I made post #26, I was trying "https". When I went back and tried instead "http", then the Vimeo video properly embedded just as it did in John's recent post #32. I have added an update note to post #26 to explain.

 

 

It never occured to me that there would be a problem with https !!! :D
