Flowers photographed in ultraviolet and visible light. http://www.ultraviol...helem-lungwort/ Deep Cut Gardens, Middletown, New Jersey, USA08 April 2013Cultivar in botanical garden Synonym:Bethelehem SageComment:The term 'saccharata' means 'sugared' and refers to the sprinkling of white spots on the leaves. The pink flowers often fade to blue with age.The perianth is UV-white with a UV-dark center. The foliage, stems and sepals are all UV-dark, so the UV-bright flower stands out against its background.
