Doug A
Couldn't find this discussed anywhere. Instead of having all three LEDS this unit uses sheets to change light output. This sounds really neat. https://www.fluorescents.com/products-the-triple.html. Doesn't seem to be a filter. I don't totally understand how it works. Thanks, Doug A Link to comment
Andy Perrin
It explains that the sheets are fluorescent screens that downconvert UV-C to UV-B or UV-A respectively. Fluorescence does not always go UV->visible. It can also be shorter UV to longer UV. Link to comment
Doug A
Makes sense...thanks for the explanation. Wouldn't this conversion be fairly inefficient? Seems like this wouldn't put out near the light of a Nemo. Still, interesting technology and it would be useful, for previewing a subject, to decide which dedicated light source to use. Thanks, Doug A Link to comment
Andy Perrin
Yes, it would be quite inefficient. But convenient. Link to comment
OlDoinyo
Would the UVB or -C actually go through that front filter? Link to comment
dabateman
The front filter is ZWB3, so yes. Even 405nm will pass through it. Link to comment
