Kai
A few weeks ago I felt like photographing animals in the zoo again. Wildlife visible during the day here in Germany is practically limited to birds. And they are small and have a long escape distance. So I went to the zoo. Since I left too late and the sun was already low the amount of UV was still very poor. I then took a few images in red-infrared (680 nm filter). Later I developed the photos b+w. I particularly like the pelicans (you can see the blood vessels in the neck area of one), the snowy owl and the tiger, the latter because of the beautiful plumage and fur contrasts. Canon 6D-FS, Canon EF 100-400mm f/4.5-5.6L IS II USM, Zomei 680nm 400mm_1-250 s_f 5.6_3200 ASA 400mm_1-500 s_f 6.7_400 ASA 176mm_1-500 s_f 6.7_320 ASA 300mm_1-250 s_f 5.6_100 ASA 400mm_1-250 s_f 5.6_800 ASA 220mm_1-250 s_f 5.6_800 ASA Link to comment

Doug A
Wow! They are spectacular. Didn't expect to see veins. When UV wasn't working, switching to IR saved the day. As always, well done. Thanks for sharing, Doug A Link to comment

Andrea B.
I returned to look again. Yes, the pelican neck is quite spectacular in IR. Kai, you could also make a lovely book from these zoo images. I hope to see more posted here eventually. Link to comment
