lukaszgryglicki
A few night shots from my new lens GF 55/1.7 (11 aperture blades) - note that photos are from full spectrum light at night (visible and infrared which is beyond lens design specification) and even with this, 100% crops allow reading signs from the platform 200 meters away (or more). Also note night city lights with different colors (while quite the same for my eye that registers no infrared) - white balance was an average on the grey concrete/sidewalk: Link to comment
Andrea B.
And those 11 aperture blades make such lovely lens stars! I always like those. That is interesting about the different (false) colors of the city lights. Do you know whether the lights might be LEDs, sodium vapour, incandescent? (Well, incandescents are probably no longer used.) Link to comment
lukaszgryglicki
Sodium & LEDS are there for sure, not sure about incandescent - would need to go there again and check. Link to comment
Kai
That's why: Always have an optical grid with you ;) I actually always have a piece of uncoated CD between the phone and the protective case. When I have questions like this, I pull that out and put it in front of the lens. The photos show very clearly where LED, where fluorescent tubes (pic. 1) and where sodium vapor lamps (pic. 2; high pressure) are at work ;) Examples: Abu Dhabi Link to comment
