Frary, S. C. (2023) Alstroemeria sp. L. (Alstroemeriaceae) Peruvian Lily.

Dallas, Texas, USA.
Commercial florist cultivar.
11 May 2023.

Comment: Peruvian lilies are common in florist arrangements due to their long lives cut in water.  There are a bazillion varieties and cultivars in many colors.  This is the very common white variety.  I was interested to see if the maroon stripes (which presumably a bee would see poorly), show a strong UV signature, and they do.  Not native to North America, but there are probably escaped garden cultivars doing well in the wild here.

Nicely done, Sue.

Sue, do you have a U330 or U5 stack? It might be of interest to you to try some photographs which emulate "bee vision". (Please excuse me if I've asked you this before!)

Ah, good question now that Cadmium has gone out of the filter business.

You will probably have to try some Chinese filter glass equivalents.

Or go to Edmund Scientific if you want original U330 or U5, either of which also needs to be stacked with some blue-green blocker.
