Photochromic pigment

A company called CultureHustle is selling what appears to be a photochromic pigment in powder form (perhaps actually in encapsulated form in some inert substrate). It is not the first such substance (see e.g. https://www.sfxc.co.uk/collections/photochromic-pigments ), but it may be interesting for experiments, especially since it is available in small quantities at reasonable prices. In addition, this pigment is also photoluminescent. Unlike some photochromic materials that need to be heated in order to revert to their original color, this one appears to spontaneously emit as VIS the energy it gains when exposed to UV.

For some background on photochromism, see https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Photochromism .

Visitors of the CultureHustle web site must certify that they are not a certain Anish Kapoor, nor working on his behalf, but that's a different story.

Photochromism plus glowing in the dark. Interesting. A timed beta for a pigment... also interesting.

I've liked Culture Hustle and had some Black 2.0 for DIY camera and lens projects.

For 3d printing there are a few plastics/filaments with photo chromatic properties from UV sensitivity.

Yes, their different black acrylic paints are how I got to know CultureHustle in the first place, too. Quite useful for preventing internal reflections and flare from the interior of extension tubes and lens adapters.
