Equipment [Nikon D200-broadband + Rodenstock 60mm f/5.6 UV-Rodagon] Visible Light [f/8 for 1/30" @ ISO 400 with onboard Flash and Baader UVIR-Block Filter] https://www.ultravioletphotography.com/content/uploads/post-4-0-77767000-1382406271.jpg" Infrared Light [f/8 for 1/60" @ ISO 320 with onboard Flash and B+W 092 IR-Pass Filter] UV-Induced Visible Fluorescence [f/8 for 1/2" @ ISO 400 with Nichia 365nm UV-LED and Baader UVIR-Block Filter] The UV-Led was used with a Baader-U filter. I’ve seen fluorescence in another spider species when I was searching for fluorescent flowers in my garden this summer, but I didn’t capture it.I’ve some images of fluorescence in caterpillars that I will publish when I get to it.Best, Nico Link to comment

I hope I can repeat this sometime with the D600 to get better quality fotos.I do worry about using the UV-LED on an insect, but hope that one or two shots was ok. I'm happy to report that this spidey continued quite nicely and spun a web amongst the flowers/leaves. Both plant and animal went to live outdoors as I still find spiders a bit creepy. The wonders of close-up photography has helped me overcome this by quite a lot. I no longer jump & shriek when I spot one. Link to comment
