Other Common Names:

     The Jerusalem artichoke (Helianthus tuberosus), also called sunroot, sunchoke, wild sunflower,^[2] topinambur,^[2] or earth apple.

 

Comment:

The plant is native to North America.

 

Some grow this plant for its rhizomes, edible potatoes, to prepare soups or other things. (I don't find their earthy and musky taste good.)  I prefer baked sweet potatoes this season.
