more portraits in IR

You might have seen my previous post of making UV portraits. I shot more than that with my model on that day though. Here's some more portraits in various flavors of IR.

Aerochrome sim (cyan gobo filter + grb3, Takumar 100mm f/4)

Excellent. Glad your model doesn't mind looking false-colored and veiny! I have had mixed luck in that respect.

Beautiful IR.......love the veins 🧛‍♂️

Thank you! My model actually likes them a lot too. Hence the picture with her hands over her face was taken. She wanted to have a close look.

Some great colors. Also look a little playful.

I think you're having fun.

We sure had fun, we are planning to do another session soon. We'd like to try more b&w IR and some UV+blue photos. Thanks!

Yes, it's true that people's reactions to looking all weird have not been exactly positive. I once photographed my mom in UV-ish (before I owned viable stacks) and she became horrified at how "ugly" she looked. No offense to my mom though, she's a great person, but some people just don't get the appeal I guess.

But my model thinks that the weirder she looks the better, so she's a perfect match for this discipline. Someone should get her to someone with a SWIR camera since those portraits are probably the scariest 😂, it's a shame SWIR cameras are so rare and costly.

Hah! You found the right model indeed. You should try shining the 850/940 torch under her chin in the dark, for max weirdness.

Very cool to see portraits using these different IR-pass filters.

Looking forward to more.
