Frary, S.C. (2022) Another Instance of Erigeron strigosus Muhl. ex Wild (Asteraceae) Prairie Fleabane. Photographed in ultraviolet and visible light.  LINK

Collected 13 May 2022, roadside, Waxahachie TX, USA.  Voucher deposition: Botanical Research Institute of Texas Herbarium (BRIT) S. C. Frary [134].

Other Common Names:  Daisy Fleabane, Whitetop, Rough Fleabane

Comment:  Very common roadside and prairie flower, here blooming with Queen Anne’s Lace (Daucus carota), and Indian Blanket (Gaillardia pulchella) in waste ground and overgrown pastures.  Small ½” wide daisy-like flowers on tall slender stems (about 1-2 feet).  The short, appressed hairs on the stems are indicative of this species.  There are many similar species of Erigeron called by similar common names, but this one is ubiquitous in north Texas.  The UV image is almost entirely dark.
