Collected 15 April 2022 in Mockingbird Nature Park, Midlothian TX.  Voucher deposition: Botanical Research Institute of Texas (BRIT) S. C. Frary [122].

 

Other Common Names:  Texas Star, Lindheimer Daisy, Lindheimer's Star

 

Comment:
Growing profusely in a carpet of Bluebonnets (Lupinus texana) and Indian Paintbrush (Castilleja indivisa).  Named for Ferdinand Lindheimer (1801-1879), the “Father of Texas Botany”.  A monotypic genus native to the southwestern United States and northern Mexico.
