New TSN575 Tangsinuo (an alternative to BG39 / S8612 ?)

Recommended Posts

Jason / Tangsinuo / China filters have arrived
with a very expensive Fedex flight and very expensive customs fees

photographic lens: Meritar 50mm f2.9 at f: 8
light: Elinchrome flash uncoated transparent tube 1500W (for VIS photo -7 stops)

I'm surprised with the results
the  QB39 - 1.5 thick doesn't block the red - IR

it is likely that the contamination of red and IR, it is because I left the modeling light on (artificial light ~ 200W)
the TSN575 filter he recommended seems to work fine as a QB39 / S8612 (which I don't have)

These are the results with ZWB1 and ZWB2
the last photo is with BG18 (jena glass) + black glass of the Nemo flashlight

Thanks for the comments
Antonio

P.S. The IKEA cap is lined with Teflon plumbing tape

My studio wall is a good photographic neutral gray

Thank you Photoni, it's much better.

I am expecting my TSN575 in a few days.

As I wrote, I have two very good BG39 but Tangsuino's are bad. I just did some tests this morning.

@Yves W the problem with the Tangsuino BG39 ... is that it is only 1.5mm thick,

it has no bigger thickness (it only has a 50x50x4mm square)

as you can see with two QB39 from Jason + ZWB1 are OK

Thank you Photoni, I looked too quickly.
I will try immediately with 2 BG39 Tangsuino. I have many.
The BG39 that comes with the 35 F3.5 Kyoei clone is 2.3mm is very good.

I bought an Asahi Super Takumar 35 f3.5 ... enough for what I do.
Do you have any idea who else is selling a good BG39 in europe? Shipping and taxes are very high from USA and China
... or are we waiting for the one from @rfcurry ?

sorry for the sharpness, it was a windy day and the flowers wilted quickly and went out of focus.

Thank you for this superb assembly.

I have an excellent BG39 52mm which was written in white "BG39 52mm", I have had it for a long time and I cannot see it again. As soon as I find it, I report it.

Congratulations on your results with ZB2 and QB29, mine are very bad too red.

I will try again.

The TSN575 seems to be working well. Like the comparison of it with ZWB1 and ZWB2. The dandelion center shows a lot of change. Makes wish I had a 2.

Thanks for sharing,

QB39 QB39 ZWB1 seems like a pretty combination, as does TSN575 ZWB1. I’m assuming that allowing some infrared is not a concern here.

Please list the thickness of all filters. This is critical information (and the tests are worthless without it)!

Andy, Jason says all are 2mm thick,
only the QB39 is 1.5mm

I'm sorry that all photos suffer from flare,

stupidly I put a white cotton towel which is dazzling for the Meritar (which has no anti-reflective treatment)

The Meritar is a solid performer in UV.  I once said that if I used my Meritar on a sunny day, it took in so much light that the streetlights came on. :)  Not true,, of course, but it was easy to develop an affection for that simple little Cooke triplet "The simplest design that is capable of correcting all of the seven Seidel aberrations over a wide field of view is the Cooke triplet."

Thanks.

This is the same series of filters + TNS575 with flash light and Meritar (only the first is with QB39)

no exchange of channels

THE CURVES DON'T SEEM TO CORRESPOND TO REALITY, BUT THEY ARE SIMILAR.

I received the TSN575, it's good, Thanks Photoni.

Too bad the name of the filter is not written especially at this price, I scratched the metal.

it's ridiculous, I would have paid 7 $ more for the 7 ø52 filters
I engraved Roman numerals with a cutter to distinguish them

V for QB39 ... VV for TSN575

XI for ZWB1 .........

I cut brown masking tape into thin stripes and wrap it around the Tangsinuo filters. Then write on that with a black permanent sharpy marker.

My ZB1-2s and ZWB1-2-3s are written in blanks.
For the TSN575, I engraved a T but not the whole filter. I don't think the price goes up much with writing the name in white

New proof

Asahi super takumar 35mm lens

studio flash light

collodion - bee vision - UV

top left - wisteria - (teflon cap) - Euryops Pectinatus - lotus corniculatus  (@ulfsays very sensitive to IR)

in the middle - two yellow bidens - Thunbergia - sedum palmieri - daisy - Calibrachoa

bottom left - laburnum - bidens white - cornus - dandelion

I am surprised by the colors of the 2 - 3 - 5 - 6 photos

4 and 7 are very similar

8 shows that the QB39 is not working

9 shows that the TSN575 is not good for VIS

Now I have to try them with ortho photographic film in 6x9cm format !!!

Thanks Antonio for the April 22 post, it's great.

Ok for everything and especially the BG39 1.5mm. I find the QB5 excellent and I have the others + ZB1 and Baader U. Does the QB5 exist in 52mm, I haven't found it.

Yesterday I received my TSN575, ZWB1 and ZWB2 from Jason, all of them measured close to 2mm thick. The TSN575 does work nicely! Thanks Antonio!

Just for those in EU: if you are patient, you can buy from Jason through AliExpress, as I usually do. If the order is less than 100 € you pay VAT to AliExpress and no import duties are charged. Customs clearing is handled automatically by the postal service at no extra cost. I ordered my filters on 30 April, and the parcel was ready for pickup at the nearest Post Automate on 19 May. This was AliExpress Standard Shipping, fee 7.24€. (It can take somehow longer, but in the abscence of major disruptions 2 to 4 weeks is the usual time for delivery here in Finland for AliExpress Standard Shipping which provides tracking. I do avoid AliExpress Economy Shipping as delivery times tend to be longer and rather unpredictable.)

I'm using a Brother P-touch label maker with 6mm laminated black tape. Using the smallest font and cutting it to size is a very elegant way to label filters.
