Australian Native Wildflower as Garden Specimen

Chiloglottis x pescottiana is a natural hybrid formed from a cross between Chiloglottis valida and C. trapeziformis which grows in open forest and scrub mostly in eastern Victoria but also in the far south-east of New South Wales.

As you will see from the date, which is when the image was taken, these were taken several years ago in our Antipodean summer. The black plastic plant pots were excluded from the photos more by luck than good management and the 105 mm lens gave me enough room to stand back. The background was the layer of weathered wood chip mulch. The orchid tubers were obtained from the Australasian Native Orchid Society
