Pictures from Duisburg: rails - port - industrial plants

Today I'm showing a few pictures from Duisburg. The city lies at the connection of the rivers Rhine and Ruhr. It was mentioned in a document over 1000 years ago. The port is considered to be the largest inland port in the world. Almost a third of the pig iron produced in Germany comes from the eight Duisburg blast furnaces. Due to the steel crisis that has been going on since the 1970s, the city suffers from high unemployment. 
I like to walk along the waterways and rails in the harbor to take photos there. Sometimes in UV :)

Amazing photos! Yeah, the UV haze is definitely beneficial here. The contrast is very nice between foreground/background.
