Kai
In mid-August - it is midsummer for us - I took a few architectural photos in Düsseldorf. The city lies on the river Rhine and has a small, old port, which is now an in-area. There are also a few buildings by Frank Gehry there. Nearby is the radio tower and the former administration building of Mannesmann, a formerly very important steel manufacturer. Taken with a Canon 6D-FS, an old M42-lens (28 mm focus length, stopped down to aperture 8 and 11) and a filter stack consisting of a ZWB2 and a QB21. Sensitivities between 100 and 6400 ASA, exposure times between 1.5 and 1/60 s. White balance on PTFE, then the colors were inverted and shifted slightly so that water and sky appear bluish. colinbm
Very interesting to see & with the colour swap. Being in the Antipodes I looked up Google maps to see the visible colour scene...... Link to comment
Kai
It's good that Google Maps only shows the world in the VIS. Otherwise you wouldn't have to travel at all ;) Greetings to Australia! Link to comment
Andrea B.
Very well done, Kai. That first one is excellent. And that crazy building !! It made me look once, twice, thrice to figure out what exactly I was seeing in terms of perspective. No doubt that was exactly what the architect had in mind. It would probably be OK to ever so slightly boost the dark areas to reveal a bit more detail? Unless.....that wouldn't work for the particular outcome you had in mind. Link to comment

Many thanks, Andrea :) Brightness: Yes, that is obviously a very important point in UV photography, as I discovered for me. Because almost all materials absorb UV to a greater or lesser extent, the world is quite dark in UV, especially when plants are present. The sky, on the other hand, scatters so much UV that it is practically always very bright (compared to the world below). These high contrasts can of course be compensated digitally. But then I just have "normal" photos. Sometimes I try to keep this special feature of the world in the UV. Overall, I haven't found my "artistic" style in UV ... And maybe that's a good thing;) Link to comment

ulf
Some artists and architects have always pushed the limits of "correct" shapes in buildings. I am a fan of Gaudí's creations that are more than a century old: https://www.google.com/search?q=gaudi+house&sxsrf=AOaemvJL3gw0aRiFEHk0IrUrk84530bhRA:1634714820538&source=lnms&tbm=isch&sa=X&ved=2ahUKEwiRk7-hu9jzAhWEuYsKHcFPDqkQ_AUoAXoECAIQAw&biw=1998&bih=1123&dpr=1.25 His shapes are closer to nature than some modern boxy designs.
