Yes, the filter is very easily removed, and I think it can easily be stuck in again with a little bit glue.

RidgeRun is working on a free version of a driver for the Nvidia Jetson famlily.

 

The low cost Jetson Nano and the Jetson Xavier NX have also two ports for the R-Pi HQ camera.

I am currently working with this setup, but started with the Arducam driver. Have you tested if you can change the exposure time with the RidgeRun driver?

 

Here I have taken all the examples that JetsonHacks has done and made them work with the RaspPi HD Camera.

No I only use a python script that calls up raspistill.

I have kept mine fairly simple and now that it works I don't want to change anything.

I might see if I can install Lightzone on it though as I like that image editor.

I hope it plays well with my DNG files.

Two CSI cameras, a Gopro via a HDMI to USB3 adapter and a Flir Boson with USB3/AV interface are connected.

I initially started with the Raspberry Pi but hit a bottle neck that it couldn't handle two cameras....now with this add on maybe it can:

Yes that does look interesting and better than the first version with CM3 limited to 1GB.

 

But I think I have switch gears and will not collect 2 camera signals at once. For me it comes down to the lighting. I have best lights for UVC, best lights for UVB, best lights for UVA and visible/ IR can be the same halogen. So the lighting for best signal and white balance just doesn't match up into UV for me. Unless I was just imaging in IR, but things aren't that interesting their unless I separate the signal from 980 bands to the rest. I have tight 970 and 990 bandpass filters I still need to play with.

 

So single camera for me moving forward.

Got a reply, yes:

 

"HI ori333,

To say briefly - yes!

You can run to instances of raspivid, each working with its own camera. Ans set the parameters you need for each camera.

You can also do this by accessing video devices over VFL.

Please note, that in this case, you are working with 2 independent cameras, but not in the stereoscopic mode. So software sync will not work here. If you need sync - you have to use hardware features (like XVC syncing or synchronizing cameras' oscillators)."

Which one is your UV camera?

 

I see based on your previous posts your using the Raspberry Pi HD camera as your UV camera. My struggle with the Jetson Nano for UV photography was to get that camera to have a lower shutter speed. This is one of the reasons I want to go back to using the Pi.

 

Do you have a solution on the Jetson Nano to lower the shutter speed of the RPi HD camera?

GSENSE2020BSI looks fantastic. Your drone will see everything.

Note for the RaspPi HD camera, if you take it outside put it in an enclosure otherwise IR light hitting the back of the PCB will distort your image.

In regards to the HQ camera. I think you already know but dabateman and I got the Bayer filter removed from the RaspPi HQ camera by MaxMax.com.

 

Also, I'm interested in the Metal Housing from the StereoPi v2 guys.

have you guys found any lenses in the 6 to 13mm range that work good and dont' cost a fortune? I'd love a field of view equal to 35 to 70mm full frame. the wider the better.

You can see some scans of my lenses here. Don't look at the hieght of the curves,  just the cut offs into UV. I wasn't collecting back all the light.

would this setup work well for showing 10 year old kids the effects of using sunscreen  outdoors? I have a pi4 board and popping out the IR filter is very easy. It would be used outdoors in sunny weather and I'd have a live video feed on a laptop for them to see.

For UV you don't need to remove the IR blocking filter on the HQ camera.  You just need to add 20mm x 2mm ZWB2 filter to the sensor.  The CM500 IR filter on the HQ passes UV and blocks IR. 

If you add the zwb2 on the sensor, behind the C-mount adapter,  than you can use any lens and you will not need to add the filter to the lens.

The Arducam 4-12mm lens can work, as its uv cut off is around 370nm.

GREAT.  $11 on ebay ZWB2 Ultraviolet UV Band Pass Filter UV Flashlight for Filter All Stray Light. I dont' really need a zoom wouldn't a prime lens like a 6mm or 8mm be better?
I want to hook up the video feed to an old windows xp transreflective tablet so the screen can easily be seen in full sunlight. Any ideas how I could accomplish that?  (never mind found this article How to Use a Windows Laptop As a Monitor for Raspberry Pi | Beebom     )

I use an older version of that yes. Looks like Gordon has updated it , too bad he hasn't kept the older versions.

But should work.

I use the pi as a camera on its own. I have never connected to a tablet or laptop. 

I have 4B pi board,  a touch screen, a battery pack and the HQ camera. 

 

Do you already have the HQ camera? You may want to measure behind your c-mount adapter to ensure the correct diameter for thw zwb2 filter.

 

I don't know about other lenses. That can be a gamble for uv transmission.
