Here the BG39 was 2mm thick with a UG11 also 2mm. The justification is that UG11 starts passing IR just before 700nm. BG40 appears to still transmit IR to just before 800nm while BG39 transmits to only just before 700nm. Because I didnt want IR leakage, I went with BG39

How thick is your BG40?

I don't think you will find BG40 4mm around, 3mm probably somewhere. 3mm would do OD4, 4mm OD5, it is the green line, hard to see because it pretty much follows the black line at OD5.

Using actual Schott glass, your BG39 stack would be be quite solid with OD5, however, as you can see, you would increase UV strength, 40% to 55%, using S8612 instead of BG39.

This is how I rotated and cropped one of my favourites:

Great crop, Ulf. I might go with this crop if I go for a more extensive edit. Thanks!

Yea, mine isn't the best stack in the world, so I'll probably go with a 52mm 1mm S8612. I don't think anyone makes it for 77mm at the moment unfortunately, and it would likely be too $$$ at that size anyway.

Thanks for the graphs, Cadmium
