colinbm
BioluminescenceI have been thinking about this topic, lightly over a few decades, but never investigating it any further, until recently, with my endeavors to get back on the water & night time photography. Just tonight while browsing recent TV docos, I came across David Attenborough's 'Life That Glows'. Great doco, by-the-way So I did a quick Google & found another bit of info that has also eluded me, & that is how far different wavelengths penetrate water.......thus...http://www.montereyinstitute.org/noaa/lesson06/l6la2.htm.CheersCol PS. As usual, it just got more complicated.....slideshow image #20...http://www.slideshare.net/sudeshrathod/marine-water-parameters1 PSS. The last 10 minutes of the 'Life That Glows' doco, explains a bit about the unique camera that was used. They did say that it was a special, 'low light' camera, but the image from the lens is split, one goes to an IR camera & the other goes to a visible light camera, then later the images are combined in processing, so that the surroundings are visible against the glowing bioluminescence lights.Have I got this right or have I mis-understood something ?
