It can become invasive as an escapee. I don't know if the Spanish Broom on my land was purposefully planted or sprang up wild.Spanish Broom has one of those interesting pea-like flowers which renders as a combination of both false-blue and false-yellow under UV white balance. The central keel is a dark, vivid false-blue while the outer wings are UV-black. The upright banner is mostly false-yellow on the front with dark blue veining. On the banner back, both false-blue and false-yellow are present above a UV-dark spot at the base. References:1.
