GaryR
These are recent shots using the Nick Spiker color profile, with a #12 yellow filter, and Hoya YA3 orange filter (FS-converted Sony a7R). My better half was wearing all black (including purse and boots). The snow fence in the background, was red. Buildings along the beach with #12Y. Actual colors. Frozen ice on Lake Erie with #12Y Local Conservation area, all taken with a Hoya YA3 orange filter. Slightly orange foliage with cyan skies. Link to comment

Andrea B.
I've been thinking that we need a tag for this EIR/Aerochrome style of work? I quite like the 6th one down - the forest with the diagonal tree trunk (is that what it is??). Link to comment
GaryR
Much appreciated Andrea! I think it's generally understood that red/magenta trees and foliage are an attempt at re-creating EIR/Aerochrome false-colors. It may not be accurate, but an EIR or Aerochrome tag does narrow it down to that particular style. It works for me! The diagonal in #6 could be rooted fallen pine, that didn't make it. Cadmium
Would you also say that this topic below fits into that same Aerochrome tag?http://www.ultravioletphotography.com/content/index.php/topic/3179-lee-blue-filter-test-to-get-the-aerochrome-red-in-camera/page__fromsearch__1 Link to comment
GaryR
Perhaps Aerochrome/EIR Emulation might be a better description, but I'd expect the Scuba Blue/ IR Chrome filters to be in that same category. Link to comment
dabateman
I've been thinking that we need a tag for this EIR/Aerochrome style of work? Interesting idea. How about IR red, for EIR, IR yellow for goldie look, IR white for typically images and IR green for normal spectrum, although we may not need the last one. Do people like blue trees? I don't think I have seen images shown that way and the blue and red channels are always flipped. Link to comment
Cadmium
EIR/Aerochrome Style is an attempt, via multiple means, to create some kind of simulation of that look/feel/style. Link to comment
GaryR
You're right David, there are many ways to create IR false-color images (I've tried most of them), but Aerochrome emulations are an attempt to re-create an actual film emulsion. The popularity of Aerochrome has never ceased since it was discontinued in 2011. Link to comment
Nisei
Great pics GaryMay I ask which channel swapping method you've used? IRG? Link to comment
