Comment

Pyrorchis nigricans is a terrestrial orchid which occurs in open forest and heathland in New South Wales, Victoria, South Australia, Western Australia and Tasmania. The flowering of this species is strongly promoted by fire. This area had been burnt by severe wildfire in early 2014 and was found to have masses of flowers of this species in the following Spring.
