Flowers photographed in ultraviolet and visible light. http://www.ultraviol...den-nasturtium/ Charlotte Rhoades Park & Butterfly Garden, Southwest Harbor, Maine, USA16 July 2012Cultivar in botanical garden Comment:The intricately structured Garden Nasturtium has a richly textured surface in UV indicative of conical cells. There is a UV-sheen that plays across the petals with the light giving a UV-dark and UV-blue patchiness. Most of the visible venation becomes UV-dark although the distinct visible throat streaks are obscured in UV by a generally UV-dark throat.
