Focus ring belts

I suppose this piece of gear is old hat to most of you, but it was new to me and I have found them to be quite useful. The ability to easily move the focus ring on a prime lens has been lost to me for some time due to peripheral neuropathy, i.e., I have no sense of touch and must see whatever I am picking up or holding. With one of these clamps, I can easily give the focus a little nudge with no problem.

You can place them on the camera thusly:

They also are handy if a filter sticks on the lens.

You can get them from ebay for as little as $0.99 per clamp. A search for Lens Gear Ring Belt should get you there.

Cheers,

Reed

Well this is a cool gadget for sure! It's new to me. It would be useful for various reasons. Like when my head is stuck in the finder box and my hand is groping for a minute change in focus or needing to close an open aperture preset.

Just remember not to overtighten ... sideways pressure might bend focusing barrels etc. out of their perfect circular shape if pressure is excessive. A common problem when you use similar gear devices for lenses and cameras in underwater housings.
