Blum, A.G. (2015) Another Example of Geranium robertianum L. (Geraniaceae) Herb Robert. Flowers photographed in ultraviolet, visible and infrared light. http://www.ultraviol...nother-example/

Synonyms:
  • Dove's Foot
  • Mountain Crane's-bill
  • Stinky Bob
  • Storksbill
  • Robertiella robertiana (L.) Hanks
Comment: Rørslett (2012) first showed a European G. robertianum in ultraviolet(1). Here is a North American example found in coastal New Jersey which exhibits a similar UV signature. The plant is native to both Europe and N. America and other regions of the world.

Wildflower

Comment: This particular specimen is a bit of an oddity with six petals. Another flower showed 7 petals. In all other respects the plant satisfied the characteristics of G. robertianum. Set 2 below contains an example of the normal 5-petaled flower.
