Chinnock noted “The type of Eremophila strongylophylla is very fragmentary, [having been described by Ferdinand Mueller in 1876] consisting of four stem portions mounted on a sheet with most of the leaves lost except towards the branch tips. There are three small packets, one with Mueller’s handwriting on the outside containing a dissected flower and calyx and fragments of leaf and calyx. The other two packets and a small cellophane packet contain leaf fragments.
