(I didn't plant it. It was here when I arrived.) Speciosa means "showy", and the lovely Pink Ladies are indeed showy. While we do not have enough examples to make any kind of firm conclusion, it would seem that yellow Evening Primroses are fairly UV-reflective and show a false yellow, while white and pink Evening Primroses, like this one, are moderately UV-absorbing and become a false blue. (Look in the Onagraceae section for other photos of Evening Primroses.) References:1.
