Cultivar in home garden

Other Names:

  • Veronica 'Reavis'

Comment:

This ground-cover cultivar is a hybrid between Veronica liwanensis (Turkish Speedwell) and Veronica pectinata (Blue Woolly Speedwell). Most of the flowers are blue with a white eye, but small patches of white flowers also pop up in the middle of the blue. The white flowers have a blue ring around a white eye.

In ultraviolet light the flowers reverse with UV-bright petals and a UV-dark eye. The white flowers are a bit more UV-bright than the blue flowers which are pale false blue in UV.

Reference:

There really is not a proper reference for a retail hybrid, so I will simply post a reference to the genus Veronica.
