Blue and green eyes more prone to UV damage!

I was reading this interesting cross polarization article on petapixel, and was surprised that brown eyes would have more melanin.

It seems to actually be true and blue eyes are more prone to UV damage.

Yeah me, I didn't know my eyes were the worst for UV damage. Maybe make sense why I can see deep into UV.

Thought I would post this to remind other lucky blue eyes people, to:

ALWAYS WEAR YOUR EYE PROTECTION!!

Yes, the brown in brown eyes is melanin. I think I heard/read somewhere that blue eyes are also more photosensitive in general, and very bright environments can be more unconfortable for those people. The extreme case is in albino people, as they often wear sunglasses where there is a lot of light, not necessarily only outside (where there is a good amount of UV).

I had read somewhere that the small amount of light that passes through a blue iris but not a brown one causes a somewhat lower contrast view of the world in blue eyed people.
