Hoya had R720 filters if memor serves.

This particular computer nuisance box I'm sitting at just now refuses gleefully to show any pictures, however I followed the embedded links to have a look. Nice IR b/w of the classic "dramatic IR rendition" tradition that was introduced with the Kodak HIE film many decades ago. Typically, digital IR is much softer and delicate and likely more "true" to the subject, yet I presume there is a place for any given rendition as long as it is intentional from the photographer's side.

Those are very dark blacks! Did you push them?

Also, what is RG720? Schott doesn't make it.

I process them in Capture One and get the levels to what I like then take it to Photoshop CS6 go into Curves and drop the curve at the lower end (blacks) and Convert to Black and White taking the Red completely to the left and the the Yellow to the left until the sky is black. So the blacks are pushed. If necessary I will push the whites up slightly in curves.

RG720 = R72

Thank you for the explanation. Yes, if Schott had its Hoya R72 equivalent (RG9 with a constant transmission) it would be Schott RG720.

Love these photos.

The first one reminds me of places I've lived in Kansas and Oklahoma and visited in Nebraska and Iowa. Flat prairies with BIG skies. Beautiful in their own way - and nicely brought out by your IR techniques.
