OlDoinyo
The geology behind that must be interesting. How on earth does that form? Link to comment
dabateman
Excellent angle. I look forward to seeing more minerals.I keep meaning to take a convoy on hikes, but for get. We have some interesting quartz around us. But not nicely polished like this. Link to comment
Adrian
Beautiful! What was the size of the specimen please, requiring such a large number of slices for the stack?Adrian Link to comment
nfoto
The initial post says 10mm. Meaning we are around 3X at least, thus a high number of images are required for a good stack of a "deep" 3-D object. Link to comment
Harald
Hi,First, I´m not sure how it's formed in nature. There must be some bobles in the crystallisation and somehow the petroleum seeps in. As for stacking, I use a large aperture to avoid distortion, that's why I need so many frames. In addition to get a smooth and sharp image I also use some overlapping.StackShot is used to automate the recording of each image Link to comment
