Edge of road, near Hexham, Northumberland, United Kingdom

17 May 2018

Wildflower

Other Common Names:

  • Creeping Charlie
  • Alehoof

Comment: Challenging to photograph outside as flowers are only 1 cm across. The common name of ground Ivy is a misnomer as it is related to mint rather than Ivy. Has been used in brewing ale in the past. The UV dark area on the lower petal exceeds the visible marking in the same location.

Thanks Bjørn

Sorry I forgot to reference your earlier influential images - I will add that reference later

This took me several hours and pushed my uv photography skills to the limit !

I did a lot of experimentation to hit on the best combination of lens / aperture / exposure / iso / position / processing / etc

You are doing great, Jim.

You can create and save a template in the Reference section if you like. Some of us have stored some things for cut-and-paste for other topics.

Thank you for the contributions.
