I am flabbergasted! :o An E60!? Used? eBay? Those are kind of pricey...

I like how you can change lenses on them.

I would like to have one of those rather than the E4/8 mod, just so I can changes the lens.

If you see another one of those that is 'seasonably priced', let me know.

See how the insulation used to fill in the walled in windows is different than the original insulation, and insulated better than the older sections of the walls.

Little do these people know we are all talking about their house insulation, walls, studs, rafters and exhaust vents... :D

While it was still pricey by normal standards (and I will not be getting a UV-Nikkor now...) it was indeed an insanely good price. I paid well under half the original list price.

The interchangeable lens thing was a big factor although finding an IR lens for under $1k is going to be hard. At least I have some room to grow with this one, though!

Andy, Very nice. You are very smart about Flir's...

I guess the lens that comes with it would be about the same angle of view as the E4-8 models.

Oh, by the way, how many pic pan is that?

That's about a 3.5 pic pan, side-to-side (they overlap). The angular field of view is identical to the E4-8's, 25 degrees. (FLIR's add-on lenses are 15 and 45 degrees.)

OK, looked it up.

E4 - E8:

Field of View 45° × 34°

For the E60 is says:

Lens Options Standard: 25°; Optional: 15° Tele, 45° Wide

So maybe your standard lens is 25?

I was struck by just how much the "heat rises" effect can be seen in the smallest upper window, the chimney and the roof vent. And the roof beams can be seen.
