HaraGalium trifidum var. tinctorium (L.) Torr. & GrayComment:G. tinctorium is mostly 3-petaled, but occasionally a 4th petal is seen as in the close-up below. The tiny flower is moderately UV-absorbing with slightly darker tips. Conical cells are in evidence. The stems are quite UV-black. Reference:1.
