Andrea B.
I've been looking for the excitation/emission wavelengths of various plant pigments.I've found some charts, but they tend not to show the UV or the IR regions.Things have been busy, so I haven't had a lot of time to devote to this.If you find charts or data, please post pics or links here. Thanks! Andrea B.
This seems to show us that there's no IR fluor in chlorophyll ?? But we don't get to see past 750 nm. Fig. 1. In vivo specific absorption coefficient Ea (in m2/mg) of primary pigments chlorophylls a, b, and c and photosynthetic carotenoids (PSC), and photoprotective carotenoids (PPC) over the spectral region from 400 to 750 nm (Bidigare et al., 1990. Ocean Opt X, 1302, pp. 290–301). Link to comment
Andrea B.
Olive oil fluoresces !! Who knew ??!! Cool. Added: I suppose this should have been obvious given that olives for oil are green? Link to comment
rfcurry
Andrea, This study might be of interest as it covers the broad ground of UVA and UVB absorbance and fluorescence -- http://jxb.oxfordjournals.org/content/52/363/2007.full Link to comment
