Blum, A.G. 2013. Tanacetum vulgare L. (Asteraceae). Tansy. Flowers photographed in ultraviolet and visible light. http://www.ultraviol...m-vulgare-tansy

15 July 2012

Southwest Harbor, Maine, USA

Wildflower

Synonyms:

  • Golden Buttons
  • Hierba Lombriguera

Comment: Having no ray florets gives this flower its button-like appearance. The plant has naturalized in various areas in the US after escaping from some garden. In the UV it has a uniformly dark appearance with a few teases of false UV-blue around the rim of opened florets.
