This is a small to medium sized perennial species of moist coastal regions, native to the US western coastal region.

While not particularly 'blue-eyed' that I can see, it does have a nice UV-dark eye. B)

There are many members of this genus with non-blue colours, thus the designation 'blue-eyed' applies in a generic sense.
