Wild cactus as botanical garden specimen

Comment:

From the Wikipedia entry(1) we have that the wild population of the Mexican cactus E. grusonii is endangered. However, wide cultivation of the species has preserved it as a popular ornamental in US Southwestern gardens and botanical parks.

Look how much more obvious the extensive spider web is in the UV photograph.

I'm not yet really comfortable referencing Wikipedia, but it's all I currently have for this Echinocactus.
