  • Eupatorium ternifolium Ell.

Comment:

This purplish-stemmed, tall Joe-Pye weed was found growing inland at the edge of a pond. Some wasps, skippers and a Tiger Swallowtail butterfly visited while I was photographing the plant. In UV the rays on the discoid flowers have a pleasing dark blue false colour.
