Andrea B.
Blum, A.G. (2013) Dianthus chinensis L. (Caryophyllaceae) China Pink. Flowers photographed in ultraviolet and visible light. http://www.ultraviol...sis-china-pink/ Middletown, New Jersey, USA29 May 2008Cultivar in home garden Synonyms:石竹 shi zhu (Chinese)Comment:The visible red petals are so dark in UV that it was difficult to show their detail in the photograph. There is a brighter center star around the stamens and pistil which are somewhat more UV-reflective than the perianth. Reference:1.
