Wildflower in home garden

Synonyms:

  • Thalictrum amissum
  • Thalictrum fendleri var. platycarpum
  • Thalictrum fendleri var. wrightii

Comment: The graceful Fendler's Meadow-rue is quite common in the Western two-thirds of New Mexico. Its flowers are unisexual with the staminate and pistillate flowers occuring on separate plants (dioecious). The example shown below from my garden is a male plant with reddish filaments on the dangling male flowers.

The male plant is UV-absorbing and other than some false blue filaments is otherwise unremarkable.
