They are about $12k on up. However, I don't think they can produce an image. Link to comment

dabateman Posted August 31, 2020 Share Posted August 31, 2020 I don't know, limited to titanium and up atomically is a big limitation.I would rather destroy some sample and do inductivly coupled plasm mass spectrometry. The ICP-MS units I briefly play with in undergrad were magical at chemical detection. Also since argon is used, you get the exact amount of carbon as well. So better than flame atomic adsorption and emmission (AA/AE) carbon tube devices.This thing looks very classical Star Trek. Would be fun but has limits. Link to comment
