Damon
Small study but still interesting. Apparently just shining it at your closed eyes - it goes through your eyelids - does the trick. https://www.cnn.com/2020/06/30/health/declining-eyesight-red-light-scn-wellness/index.html If this has been posted already my apologies. Stefano
Good. I have a 660 nm deep red LED and I just got a 680-690 nm one (both "10 W"). Maybe I will do it, why not. Link to comment
Andy Perrin
Stefano...I mean, it's probably better for you than UV, but you can still literally fry your eyeballs don't forget. Link to comment
Stefano
If I do it with closed eyes it shouldn't be too dangerous. I can always dim my LEDs, I have a CC CV power supply and I can set the current anywhere between 0 and 5 A. Surely better than the nice blue from my 340 nm LED. Link to comment
Stefano
I generally try to avoid looking straight into my 850 and 940 nm LEDs, as, of course, they are much brighter than how they appear to me. After a while, my eyes feel "tired", like if I stayed at the beach for an entire afternoon. They probably aren't too dangerous, but still not very wise to look at them. Link to comment
