UV-images of C. scoparius have been published before by Rørslett, (2013):

However, the samples that are shown here exhibit a different UV-signature. Since different parts of the flowers become visible as it opens, images were taken from multiple states.

Flowers were photographed and collected at three different locations in the Rhein-Main area, Germany, June 4, 10 and 20 2013.

 

All images were taken with a broadband-modified Panasonic Lumix G1 and the EL-Nikkor 80mm/f5.6 at f8-11.

The C. scoparius flowers shown here have a quite complex UV-signature with parts of the flower converting to bright yellow, others that are UV dark and finally an inner part that converts to a (pale) blue.

UV dark parts show an orange fluorescence, darker than the rest of the flower that appear in a greenish yellow.
