Wildflower in botanical garden

Synonyms:

  • Golden Columbine
  • Golden Spur Columbine
  • Aquilegia chrysantha var. rydbergii Munz

Comment:

This startling golden columbine is an American Southwestern native. Aquilegia species can be polymorphic, and spur length variation is found with A. chrysantha. In the UV the flower has medium and dark tonalities. The filaments are UV-black with lighter anthers.
