ins13
This yellow-green glass ЖЗС-9 on a full-spectrum camera gives pink trees and keeps the sky bluewith white balance on clouds ЖЗС-9 2х, thickness 3 mm Link to comment
JMC
I like that effect, especially in the first one. Link to comment
ins13
Thanks for the comment! Sunny weather with clear blue sky - in the visible - was at the first photo only. And this filter kept the color of the sky :) Link to comment
GaryR
Those purples and pinks are great!I'm unfamiliar with ЖЗС-9 glass, but I get a similar effect with my Hoya X0 yellow/green filter. Beautiful lighting and colors in that last one! Link to comment
ins13
Thank you very much!!) Seems more infrared passes through Hoya X0. judging by its graph. I have another filter ЖЗС-18 more like Hoya. But I haven't taken pictures with it yet. Link to comment
Cadmium
Yes, ЖЗС-9 is closer to Hoya X1. Link to comment

Andrea B.
стекло I had completely forgotten the word for glass. It has been a very long time since I actively tried to use Russian! Link to comment
ins13
Andrea, how interesting! :) Cadmium, maybe you need the graphs of Russian glass - Color_Glass_Spectral_Transmittance http://www.elektrost...ansmittance.pdfLike, if you need it. i don't know.... Link to comment
Cadmium
Thanks, yes, I have that.Russian filters have come up a few times on here.http://www.ultraviol...dpost__p__25363 http://www.ultravioletphotography.com/content/index.php/topic/1848-uv-transmission-filters-performance-evaluation/page__view__findpost__p__12713 I suggest these are the equivalents:Hoya X0 = Ж9С5 (not ЖЗС18)Hoya X1 = ЖЗС9 Hoya X0 and X1 filters: Russian Ж9С5 and ЖЗС18 filters: Russian ЖЗС9 filter: Keep in mind, the thicknesses of Russian filters tend to be thicker than other brands. 3mm vs 2mm in these examples.Assuming the Hoya filters are 2mm thick, and not 3mm thick, but this is the tendency. dabateman
Interesting,More things to play with. The filters I have I posted here:http://www.ultravioletphotography.com/content/index.php/topic/3107-does-anyone-know-the-equivalents-to-the-russian-filters/page__view__findpost__p__25378 Mine I think are a bit older. This may also be equivalent to my YG-2x Link to comment
Cadmium
Yes, I posted a link to that topic above. Did we establish the thickness of yours? You can get one of those Hoya X1 filters on eBay for maybe $15 +/-. I looked on B&W they are about $30 new for a 52mm. Link to comment
ins13
How do you attach your square filters to lens? I bought square Filter Holder for Cokin P series. It's not perfect, but almost good, I've tweaked it a bit Link to comment
Cadmium
Depends on the size of the square. For 2" (50mm) squares I put them in a 52mm to 72mm step up ring. However, I just tried that idea with the 40mm and 80mm squares...The 40mm will fit inside a 58mm step up ring, but the center needs to be smaller that 52mm, more like 43mm (approximately)? The 80mm squares will need something larger than what I have, like above 90mm...? Not sure. Link to comment
ins13
like this? It is too large ring 11.5 cm for 80mm square. I tried. bulky. Link to comment
Cadmium
Yes, like that. What size square is that? Link to comment
Cadmium
72mm ring?Looks the same as mine, I used a 72mm to 52mm.I think the same could be done with 80mm squares, but would nee dot use a very large ring, and several rings maybe to get down to whatever size is needed for the lens. Link to comment
ins13
I use 40,5-58 или 40,5-62 rings for 40mmx40mm glass Link to comment
Cadmium
Yes, that would work. I tired a 40mmx40mm in a 58mm ring, that worked, but not for 52mm lens.I used the 72mm for 50mmx50mm, that works for 52mm lens threads perfect.Circles are much more fun. :) Link to comment
