UVF Satsuma Mould

Adrian

Recommended Posts

I have done several of these over the last couple of years, but this is one of the best examples! Found in the bottom of the fruit bowl!

Technical details: Nikon D800 with 105mm micro-Nikkor lens. Convoy S2+ UV LED torch. Approx 30 seconds at f/22, "light painted"

Way cool!

I immediately went to the Planet interpretation too. B)

The banding is very interesting. I wonder if the tangerine was dropped to cause the bottom discoloration?

I don't think it was dropped though it was at the bottom of the fruit bowl, underneath several others.

I assume the banding shows the same species of mould in different stages.

Very nice capture, Adrian!

As it happens this time oft the year, I got some satsumas as well. And there was this question:

The banding is very interesting. I wonder if the tangerine was dropped to cause the bottom discoloration?

So as mine got in a bad shape as well ...

I think, the bottom shows the "normal" stage, looks just brown, not very delicious.

Here are mine (Z6 with S35/4 and Convoy S2+ with 2mm 340nm filter from well known source ;-)

both jpgs out of camera, just a bit cropped and reduced color space here (because of gif))
