OlDoinyo Posted August 28, 2018 Share Posted August 28, 2018 Yes--often seen on the underside of the rear anvil of a cumulonimbus cloud. Caused by small diapirs of sinking air from the underside of the cloud. The first photo is more classic and well-defined. Link to comment

Click the Gallery button at the top. When the Gallery page comes up, look in the upper right for the 4 icons: cart, search, picture, person. Click the picture icon to reveal a filter for cloud types.
