What is causing the mesh pattern in the sky?

Ulf, by 'mesh pattern', do you mean the very faint vertical lines on the right hand side of the dark sky?
added: ok, now I see both vertical and horizontal, 'mesh' like you say.

That looks like line noise to me, from the way the sensor is read. It could also be a JPEG artifact.

this seems to happen whenever i process the image in DarkTable choosing demosaic off then rotate the image (to straighten it a bit) in photoshop

reprocessed from scratch in photoshop.. and uploaded.. new image should refresh..
