Portrait Workshop

Good afternoon,

It's been a while since I have not been here. One month ago I launched my first ultraviolet portrait exhibition in Paris. It lasted 2 weeks, and during the second wekk I decided to do an ultraviolet workshop when people had their portrait been taken in UV using artificial light solution (unfiltered speedlights).

Here is a selection of these portraits (more than 40 people went to this workshop).

About the gear, I used a Canon 6D full-spectrum, a Nikon EL 80 F/5.6 and a Kolari UV filter. EXIFs remain the same for each portrait : 80mm, F/5.6, 800iso, 1/60s.

Thank you for showing us these very interesting UV portraits. I am quite fascinated by them and by the variations. I rather like the closed eyes. Some people appear to be thinking, some sleeping, some meditating.

You might also enjoy the UV imaging of teeth by having your subjects smile. UV teeth can vary quite a lot depending on tooth condition and/or dental repairs which have been made.

I've absolutely must set up the gear and have mon mari push the shutter to take a foto of me in UV to see what is revealed.

The Skin Doc
Awesome photos as usual! I really admire your work. I'm still trying to offer these indoor uv portraits for free to my patients. Before you suggested for I purchase a "Yongnuo 560ex IV" Flash to shoot similar photos on my dermatology patients. Did you convert the flash yourself or did you outsource it to a company?

people look really bad in UV IMHO. what was the subjects reactions to their photos? And for the skin Doc, does a bunch of UV freckles mean sommething medically? Should they be using sunscreen more often, or is it just damaged skin with nothig to worry about?

Yeah teeth rocks. Look like they aren't that white anymore (at least where fixed if this is the correct word in English).
